If there was a big show happening in Chicago since 1975, you could count on one person being there – Paul Natkin. The photographer’s images have appeared in Creem, Rolling Stone and Newsweek and on album covers by Ozzy Osbourne, Alanis Morissette and Buddy Guy. If Prince, Bob Marley, Ice Cube or the Rolling Stones were doing something cool on stage, Natkin was usually there to document it. What’s his secret to being in the right place at the right time so often? “It reaches a point,” he says, “when you’re touring with the Stones that you give up on sleep altogether.”
